Are you ready to have the most impactful summer of your life? Camp Easterseals Virginia (ESVA) is the place for you! We are hiring for a passionate and energetic Camp Counselor. Nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of New Castle, Virginia, Camp ESVA is a special place where you'll create lasting connections and help provide transformative experiences for children and adults with disabilities.


What You’ll Do:

As a Camp Counselor, you’ll play a key role in creating a positive, inclusive environment for our campers. You’ll work closely with assigned camper(s) to support them in a variety of daily activities—everything from arts and crafts and adapted sports to swimming and campfires. You’ll also assist with personal care tasks like transfers, feeding, dressing, and other needs, ensuring that every camper has a safe, enjoyable experience.

What We’re Looking For:

To join our team, you must be an enthusiastic, compassionate individual committed to creating an unforgettable summer experience for our campers of all abilities. We also require the following:

  • You must be at least 18 years or older
  • High school diploma or GED required (some college coursework preferred)
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Physically able to lift and assist with transfers (up to 45 lbs) and assist with other personal care tasks. Must be comfortable with bending and kneeling.
  • Be able to commit to a minimum of 4 weeks at our camp!

For 65 years, Camp Easterseals has provided quality recreational and therapeutic camp programming in the beautiful countryside of New Castle, Virginia.
