About the Role

The YMCA Camp Counselor is responsible for leading the camper experience and enjoyment of an outdoor day camp for children ages 5-13. The role involves providing quality childcare, fostering achievement, encouraging belonging, and acting as an energetic, positive role model while creating age-appropriate activities.

Job Requirements

• Experience working with school-age children preferred.
• High energy and interest in planning fun, creative recreational activities.
• Ability to create a safe and enjoyable environment for campers.
• Positive attitude and creative thinking skills.

Qualifications

• Must be 17 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must pass First Aid and CPR training (training provided).
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions for up to 10 hours.
• Ability to perform physical activities such as hiking, bending, stretching, jumping, and swimming.
