Position Overview

The Summer Camp Counselor plays a vital role in creating a positive and engaging experience for campers. Responsibilities include leading activities, ensuring safety, and providing guidance to foster a supportive environment for growth and fun.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Supervise campers, ensuring safety and engagement during all activities.
2. Create an inclusive environment where all campers feel valued.
3. Lead activities, games, and recreational programs.
4. Manage camper behavior positively and constructively.
5. Report behavioral issues and incidents to the Summer Camp Lead.
6. Follow safety protocols and respond to emergencies as per the Emergency Action Plan.
7. Maintain clear communication with campers and staff.
8. Assist in maintaining camp areas and setup.
9. Collaborate with team members for smooth camp operations.
10. Participate enthusiastically in all camp activities.
11. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• CPR/AED/First Aid certification upon hire.
• Background check completion.
• Online United Educators Minors Training completion.
• Ability to plan, organize, and lead activities.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a camp counselor or in youth programs.
• Experience leading outdoor, sports, or arts activities.
• Creativity, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude towards working with children.
