Job summary

Code Ninjas (Tampa-Carrollwood) is seeking energetic Summer Counselors to lead coding and STEM-based camps for children ages 5-14. You will create a safe and encouraging environment, guide students through projects, and engage them in fun learning experiences. Ideal candidates are enthusiastic and dependable, with prior experience working with children. Flexible, seasonal hours are available throughout summer breaks. Pay ranges from $12 to $14 per hour.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for energetic, reliable Summer Counselors to join our team during summer break. This individual will help run our coding and STEM‑based camps, ensuring kids are safe, engaged, and having fun. If you enjoy working with children, love technology, and thrive in a hands‑on, fast‑paced environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist with Summer tech camps, following the provided curriculum and activities
• Create a positive, encouraging, and safe learning environment for kids
• Engage students in coding, robotics, and STEM‑based projects
• Support campers individually and in groups to maximize fun and learning
• Communicate with parents during check‑in/check‑out as needed
• Ensure the center remains clean, safe, and organized throughout camp hours
• Report daily to the Camp Lead or Center Director with respect to activities and student progress

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children ages 7 and up (mentoring, coaching, tutoring, babysitting, or camp experience)
• High‑energy, enthusiastic, and dependable
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Interest in coding, robotics, or technology (no prior coding experience required – training provided)
• Must be available during summer camp hours (M‑F 8 AM‑3:30 PM)
• Must be fun, adaptable, and enjoy a dynamic environment

Compensation

$12.00 – $14.00 per hour
