Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston seeks an on-site Activity Coordinator for Camp Cullen in Trinity, TX. You will schedule activities and cabins, supervise staff, and organize campers into weekly “club” activities to ensure high-quality programming and safety.

You will maintain records, coordinate with lead staff, and help drive YMCA core values of honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, and faith. The role requires living on-site during the summer season.

Qualifications

• Prefer 2 years of resident camp experience.
• Prefer 1 year of supervisory experience.
• CPR, First aid and O2 certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
• Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Schedules activities and cabins to ensure seamless transitions and high-quality programming.
• Supervises staff to ensure schedule is observed.
• Organizes staff and campers into club activities each week.
• Plans camp or village evening programs.
• Coordinates with lead staff to ensure program quality.
• Sorts campers into houses and maintains records.
• Maintains reports for the summer camp director.
• Promotes YMCA core values in programming and safety.
• Represents YMCA in the local community.
