Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Waterfront Coordinator to supervise aquatics and lifeguard staff at YMCA Camp Cullen in Trinity, TX. You will manage waterfront facilities, equipment, and watercraft, ensuring safety rules and YMCA procedures are followed.

The role focuses on delivering a safe, engaging program for campers, maintaining facilities, and coordinating with maintenance and the camp director. Residence on site during the season is required.

Qualifications

• CPR, First Aid and O2 certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
• Lifeguard certification required; Lifeguard Instructor certification preferred.
• Texas Boater's License required.
• Prefer 2 years of aquatics experience and 1 year in supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Supervises aquatics and lifeguard staff, ensuring safety and quality of programming.
• Plans and implements culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate activities aligned with YMCA values.
• Delivers a safe, fun and effective program with up-to-date emergency procedures.
• Maintains aquatics facilities, equipment and watercraft; observes for safety hazards.
• Prepares facilities pre- and post-activities and coordinates with maintenance.
• Represents YMCA in the local community and builds partnerships with organizations.
