Job summary

Lifetime Healthcare Companies offers a 10-week paid Summer College Internship Program for undergrad and grad students. Interns attend development workshops, are mentored by managers, and work on meaningful projects across various tracks including business administration, IT, actuarial, HR, analytics, and more.

Interns participate in training sessions, shadow staff to learn department roles, and deliver presentations at program conclusion.

Qualifications

• Majors/Degree Programs include Psychology, Social Worker, Human Services or similar.
• Preferred (but not required) experience with Customer Service, Presenting/Public Speaking, PowerPoint, Excel, & Word
• High School diploma with proof of continuous college enrollment (full-time undergraduate or graduate degree)
• Must be in good academic standing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences and interface with staff at all levels of the company.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail in changing environment and deliver high-quality work.
• Ability to work well in a team establishing good working relationships with peers.
• Demonstrates strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving and prioritization skills.
• Proactive approach to work, displaying creativity and flexibility in completing assigned tasks.
• Commitment to continuous improvement of skills and team functioning.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as on intra- and inter- departmental teams as needed.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Provider Clinical Trainers to research and develop content for new provider training programs.
• Participate in training sessions and assist with day-to-day training activities.
• Shadow Provider Relations Representatives, Case Managers, and Contracting staff to understand department roles.
• Work with a mentor and support key strategic projects.
• Complete work assignments based on business needs and priorities.
• Create and deliver presentations at internship completion.
• Maintain confidentiality and protect member privacy per policy.
• Regular and reliable attendance is expected.
