Job summary

Alcon invites aspiring software, data, and AI engineers to join its 2027 Summer Internship Program across several U.S. locations, including Johns Creek, GA.

Interns will gain meaningful industry experience, contribute to real-world projects, and receive coaching and mentoring to advance Alcon's mission to help people see brilliantly. The internship offers hands-on projects in AI/ML, data pipelines, and software for visualization and surgical-console products, with opportunities to collaborate

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited university for at least one semester before and after internship.
• Pursuing at least a bachelor's degree in CS, software, data/analytics, AI/ML, IT, or related major.
• Academic performance: minimum GPA 2.8/4.0.
• Demonstrated leadership through activities or projects.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable AI/ML and data-pipeline solutions using data engineering, MLOps, automation and cloud-native tech.
• Use Python and SQL to explore, clean, transform and validate data and create reusable analytical datasets or model features.
• Develop C# or C++ software, tools and next-gen architectures for visualization and surgical-console products.
• Create an AI-ready laboratory knowledge framework connecting lab systems, ELN, instrument data and study data.
• Support cybersecurity operations by monitoring security alerts and assisting with incident response.
