Job summary

Alcon is seeking multiple Software, Data & AI Engineering Interns for its 2027 Summer Internship Program across several U.S. locations, including Johns Creek, GA; Goleta, CA; Lake Forest, CA; Fort Worth, TX; and Houston, TX.

Interns gain hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to real-world projects in AI/ML, data engineering, and software development. Projects span scalable data pipelines, Python/SQL data work, C# or C++ software for visualization and surgical-console products, and

Qualifications

• Enrolled in accredited university for at least one semester before and after internship
• Pursuing at least a bachelor's degree in CS, software, data/analytics, AI/ML, IT or related major
• Academic GPA minimum 2.8/4.0
• Demonstrated leadership through activities or projects
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship (except CPT for students)
• Able to commit to a 10-12 week full-time summer internship

Responsibilities

• Work on scalable AI/ML and data-pipeline projects
• Use Python/SQL to explore and transform data into reusable datasets
• Develop software/tools for visualization and analysis in medical devices
• Contribute to AI-ready knowledge framework linking systems and data
• Support cybersecurity monitoring and incident response activities
