JOB DETAILS:

• Location: Santa Clara, CA, USA
• Onsite/Hybrid:This role requires the student to work full time (40 hours a week), in either a hybrid or onsite work structure throughout the duration of the co-op/intern term
• Duration:
  • Summer Internship:
    • Semester Students: May 24, 2027 - August 13, 2027
    • Quarter Students: June 21, 2027 - September 10, 2027

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

We are seeking highly motivated Applied AI Engineering intern to join our team. In this role, you will –

• Build and evaluate AI-assisted workflows for hardware and software engineering applications.
• Develop tools that integrate LLMs and AI agents with engineering systems, including compilers, simulators, profilers, and validation frameworks.
• Support automation of engineering workflows through candidate generation, validation, evaluation, and structured feedback.
• Collaborate with engineers and researchers to define metrics for correctness, performance, and engineering productivity.
• Contribute to evaluation datasets, benchmarking, and experiment tracking for AI-assisted engineering workflows.
• Improve prompts, retrieval systems, and tool interfaces to enhance AI agent performance.
• Analyze workflow performance and help identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and automation.
• Document technical designs, experimental results, and implementation details.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Must be currently enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
• Programming experience in Python.
• Coursework or hands-on experience in artificial intelligence, or computer systems.
• Familiarity with PyTorch or similar machine learning frameworks.
• Interest and familiarity in AI-assisted software development, LLMs, AI agents, or engineering productivity tools.
