Job summary

HDR is seeking a driven engineering student to support movable bridge projects in a collaborative, employee-owned culture. You will assist with planning, analysis, and design tasks, contributing to site visits and field assessments while applying engineering software tools.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate engineering program with attention to detail and strong communication skills, ready to work full-time as a temporary role in Fort Lauderdale.

• Support preparation of engineering calculations, reports, plans, and technical documents.
• Participate in bridge inspections, site visits, and field assessments.
• Work with engineers to evaluate structural and mechanical bridge components.
• Utilize industry-standard engineering software and design tools.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on transportation infrastructure projects.

What You’ll Do

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
• Preference given to local candidates
