Job summary

QTS Realty Trust is offering a Sales Engineer Intern position in Virginia, immersing you in the sales lifecycle and turning you into a SME on our data center solutions. You will engage in research, prepare proof of concept materials, and participate in customer meetings to learn how to craft technical solutions.

The program includes orientation, site activities, lunch-and-learns, socials and volunteering events, with a compensation range applicable to Virginia.

QTS' summer internship program will provide you first hand experience into the fast paced world of the data center industry by providing weekly lunch and learns, a comprehensive orientation program, site based activities, socials and volunteering events. Every intern will be assigned initiatives tied to real QTS objectives helping with anything pertaining to the whole life-cycle of a data center build and/or company operations. The Sales Engineer Intern will be fully immersed in QTS' sales life-cycle while becoming a SME about our solutions we offer our co-location customers.

Responsibilities will include but aren't limited to: Sales Engineer Intern:

• Perform research on prospective clients/customers

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting, Finance, STEM, Data Science, Human Resources, or a related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint for presentations and Excel for data analysis and budgeting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Must be a US Citizen

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Current full-time enrollment in one of QTS’s partner institutions (listed below) or a Blackstone Launchpad affiliate school: Auburn University Kansas State University Georgia State University Southern Adventist University Texas A&M University University of Kansas
• Previous internship or co-op experience in construction, finance, technology, HR, facilities engineering, or related industries.
• Experience with data analysis tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience with programming languages like Python, Java, etc.
• Involvement in community activities outside of schoolwork (athletics, clubs, volunteering, part-time employment).

In accordance with applicable law, the following represents a reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation for this role if hired in Virginia. Please note that this information is provided for those hired in Virginia only, and this role is open to candidates outside of Virginia with compensation that aligns with your location. The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. The estimated pay range for this role, if based in Virginia, is: $19.50 - 29.82 Please note that this information is provided for those hired in Virginia only, and this role is open to candidates outside of Virginia with compensation that aligns with your location. The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
