Responsibilities

  • Assist in executing and QAing paywall, monetization, and registration funnel initiatives to drive subscriber acquisition.
  • Support A/B testing and experimentation to optimize user journeys and paywall placements.
  • Track KPIs, maintain reporting, and provide actionable insights on audience growth and campaign performance.
  • Assist with selection of content for use across marketing campaigns.
  • Assist with campaign setup for monthly mid-funnel and lead generation marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with Acquisition, Marketing Operations, Product, Newsrooms, and Experimentation teams on launches.
  • Conduct competitor analysis and market research on prospect journey best practices and emerging acquisition technologies.

About The Role

The Audience intern assists with audience monetization initiatives aimed at driving registrant acquisition, engagement, and subscriber conversion, as well as content and product marketing campaigns, across Dow Jones media properties. You will learn to leverage digital marketing tools, audience analytics, and experimentation frameworks to support paywall optimization, registration journey enhancements, and data‑driven marketing campaigns.

The role is based in New York, NY, and requires three days per week of in‑office presence (Tuesday–Thursday).

This internship is embedded within the Consumer Subscriptions Audience Growth & Monetization team and provides cross‑functional exposure to teams across the organization (Acquisition, Marketing Operations, Product, etc.).

You Will
  • Assist in executing and QAing paywall, monetization, and registration funnel initiatives across Dow Jones media properties to drive subscriber acquisition.
  • Support A/B testing and experimentation to optimize user journeys, paywall placements, and overall funnel performance, and to drive growth within prospect pools.
  • Track KPIs, maintain always‑on reporting, and provide actionable data insights on audience growth, conversion behavior and campaign performance.
  • Assist with selection of content to be utilized across marketing campaigns.
  • Assist with campaign set up for monthly mid‑funnel and lead generation marketing campaigns
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Acquisition, Marketing Operations, Product, Newsrooms, and Experimentation teams on project launches.
  • Conduct competitor analysis and market research on prospect journey best practices and emerging acquisition technologies.
You Have
  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of digital marketing principles, sales funnels, or digital publishing.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong communication, organizational, and time‑management skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to balance multiple projects with competing deadlines and levels of priority.
  • Strong analytical mindset with an interest in leveraging data to drive business decisions.
  • Proactive problem solver skilled at identifying issues and proposing solutions.
  • Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Excellent cross‑functional collaboration, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Curiosity about digital audience behavior, UX, and subscription growth strategies.
Program Eligibility
  • Enrollment in a 4‑year undergraduate degree program
  • Graduating in Dec 2027 – July 2029 (U.S.)
