Job summary

McClelland Consulting Engineers (MCE), an ESP Company, seeks a student intern to assist QC/QA testing on Civil Engineering projects in a field and lab environment.

You will calibrate lab equipment, help obtain DOT certifications, operate the company truck, and support the CMT Supervisor with material lab needs and day-to-day tasks.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a BS engineering program at an accredited school.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
• Demonstrated math skills and independent judgment.
• Ability to pass drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform QC/QA testing on Civil Engineering projects.
• Calibrate and maintain lab and field-testing equipment.
• Operate a company truck during working hours.
• Assist with ordering and obtaining supplies for the materials lab.
• Support the Lab Supervisor and respond to field/lab needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform QC/QA testing on Civil Engineering projects
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory and field-testing equipment.
• Obtain/maintain certifications for performing field and laboratory construction materials testing through a program approved by a State DOT (CTTP).
• Operate and maintain a company truck during working hours.
• Be prepared for field and lab work
• Keep Lab area clean and workable.
• Reports to the CMT Supervisor for field work and day-to-day operations.
• Responds to requests of Lab Supervisor regarding laboratory activities needed.
• Aids in ordering and obtaining supplies for materials lab.
• Always strive to improve your job performance.
• Be cordial and patient with all fellow employees, owners/clients, and others associated with your job.
• Perform all other duties as requested by the CMT Supervisor not covered in this description above, but necessary to ensure an effective operation of MCE on a continuing basis.
