Job summary

Keurig Dr Pepper invites motivated undergraduates to join the Summer 2027 Intern – Automation and Controls Engineering program in Frisco, TX. You’ll work with seasoned engineers across manufacturing facilities to bridge manufacturing and IT, leading or supporting initiatives in controls, automation, and OT space.

You will gain hands-on experience delivering projects, mentoring, and presenting your takeaways to leadership, while developing skills in data integration, asset management, and process

Qualifications

  • Must be an undergraduate currently enrolled in a full-time program.
  • Majors listed include Electrical, Computer, Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% and work 40 hours/week.

Responsibilities

  • Connect manufacturing equipment data to AI systems for anomaly detection.
  • Update the controls asset lifecycle database and Power BI Dashboard.
  • Support controls obsolescence mitigation projects.

Job Overview

As a Summer 2027 Intern – Automation and Controls Engineering at Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP), you will experience working on a team of experienced, multisite Automation and Controls Engineers who bridge the gap between manufacturing and information technology! You will have the opportunity to lead/support a wide range of Engineering initiatives/projects in the controls, automation, and operational technology space across our Refreshment Beverages manufacturing facilities! Shift/Schedule
  • The KDP 2027 Summer Intern Program will run from June 7 - August 13, 2027
  • Full-time; 40 hours per week
  • Monday-Friday
  • 8:00am until 5:00pm
  • Hybrid schedule in our Frisco, TX headquarters
As an Automation and Controls Engineering Intern you will:
  • Connect manufacturing equipment data to AI systems for anomaly detection
  • Update the controls asset lifecycle database and Power BI Dashboard
  • Support controls obsolescence mitigation projects
Elements of the KDP Internship Program include:
  • Engaging and partnering on innovative projects to gain experience in a challenging, cross functional team environment
  • Participate in meet & greets and lunch & learns with KDP executives and other organization leaders
  • Receive professional development training such as networking, professional skills development and presenting
  • Be paired with a mentor to enhance your knowledge of other parts of the business and build your network
  • Complete a project from start to finish and present it and your takeaways to your team, department vice president and other KDP stakeholders
Total Rewards
  • $31.00/hour
  • Paid bi-weekly
  • $2,500 Sign-on Bonus, paid within 30 days of employment
Requirements
  • Must be an undergraduate currently enrolled in a full-time academic program from an accredited college or university, majoring in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Technology, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or another related field
  • Desired interest and understanding of physical security, asset protection, geo-politics, travel risk, and crisis management
  • Available to work 40 hours per week (M-F, 8am-5pm) and travel up to 10%
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize requests, and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills including excellent listening, written, and verbal abilities
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, be independently driven, and a self-starter
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Power BI, project management, and process improvement skills are preferred
