Job summary

Diamondback Energy, Inc. is offering a Human Resources Intern position for a roughly 12-week May–August 2027 program in Midland, Texas.

The intern will own a summer project and collaborate with recruiting, compensation, training and development, HRIS and benefits teams. You will gain hands-on HR experience, support onboarding, employee relations and data analysis in HRIS, participate in field visits to understand oilfield operations, and present your project to Diamondback’s executive team.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business Management, Human Resources, Psychology, Organizational Development or a similar discipline
• Must have strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills
• Must be willing to work in Midland, TX for the duration of the internship
• Must be returning to school for Fall 2027 semester
• Cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher is preferred

Responsibilities

• Work on an assigned, individual Human Resources project throughout the summer, culminating in a presentation of the completed project to Diamondback’s executive team
• Develop human resources skills under the supervision and guidance of an assigned, experienced mentor
• Work directly with teams across Human Resources and other disciplines to experience what working in an Oil & Gas Exploration and Production company is like
• Support recruiting activities such as candidate communication, interview scheduling, or onboarding
• Assist with employee relations, compensation, and benefits projects, including data gathering and analysis in HRIS
• Help develop and deliver training and development materials for employees across the organization
• Participate in on-site field visits to learn about field operations, including an active drilling rig and completions spread
• Participate in intern events and philanthropic endeavors that support the Midland-Odessa community
