Job summary

Citrin Cooperman seeks a Forensic Advisory Services Intern to join the Advisory Department in Miami. The internship provides exposure to forensic accounting engagements, including economic damages analyses and investigative work, with mentors and a structured program.

Winter and Summer programs are offered, with an 8-week Summer program and a shorter Winter term; successful interns gain hands-on experience, professional development, and opportunities for growth within the firm.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS in finance, accounting, business, or economics; or a 5-year MS program.
• Completed coursework in accounting, finance, or economics.
• Strong Excel and Word skills.
• Strong accounting, financial analysis, and modeling abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide forensic accounting services for engagements including economic damage analyses and investigations.
• Gather, organize, understand, analyze and summarize supporting documentation.
• Read and interpret financial statements for analyses.
• Develop and use computer models to simplify complex data.
• Assist with exhibit and report preparation for expert testimony.
• Maintain high professional standards and client confidentiality.

We are looking for a Forensic Advisory Services Intern to join our Advisory Department in our Philadelphia, New York City, or Miami office location. As a Forensic Advisory Services Intern, you will be responsible for providing excellent client service. The Winter Internship Program is during our busy season, usually beginning early January and ending in April or May depending on your department. The Summer Internship Program is an 8-week long program in-person, usually beginning early June and ending late July depending on your department.

Responsibilities

• Provide forensic accounting services for a wide array of engagements focusing on economic damage analyses, intellectual property disputes, purchase price disputes, fraud investigations and internal investigations.
• Ability to gather, organize, understand, analyze and summarize supporting documentation in a clear and concise manner.
• Read, understand, and interpret financial statements and other financial records to perform relevant financial analyses.
• Understand, develop and utilize computer models to streamline detailed and complex information into clear and concise analyses.
• Assist with the preparation of exhibits and reports for expert witness testimony.
• Maintain and comply with the highest degree of professional standards, client confidentiality and personal conduct

Qualifications

• Current Junior or Senior anticipated to graduate with a Bachelor of Science or applying for a 5-year Master’s degree program in finance, accounting, business or applied economics
• Have completed relevant course work in accounting, finance or economics.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word skills.
• Highly motivated with analytical skills including possessing strong accounting, financial analysis, and modeling skills.
• Strong time management, organizational skills and work ethic.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate an ability to work cooperatively with team members.
