Job description

The Premier Performance and Transformation Office (PPTO) manages Entergy's strategic transformation initiatives. Grid modernization, clean energy, resilience investments. We validate strategic initiatives at approval gates and track whether they deliver on their promises. If they fall short, we surface that to leadership.

You’ll support financial analysis and value realization at the portfolio level. That means looking across all our active initiatives and asking whether we're hitting our targets collectively, where we're falling short, and where leadership should focus. You’ll work directly with our Sr. Manager and two Sr. Staff members. Daily check-ins. Real guidance.

Your Responsibilities
  • Portfolio Benefit Tracking — Build the analytics that show if our initiatives are delivering promised benefits
  • Stage-Gate Financial Governance — Help create the standards all initiatives must meet before approval
  • Portfolio Value Gap Analysis — Compare what we promised against what we're actually delivering across the portfolio
  • Financial Data — Keep the numbers organized so analysis is possible
What You’ll Learn

You’ll gain insight into how utilities execute large-scale infrastructure modernization programs and the financial governance frameworks required to manage transformation at scale.

Your Team

You’ll be assigned to a focused team consisting of one Sr. Manager and two Sr. Staff members in PPTO Finance. You’ll receive regular feedback and mentorship from senior financial analysts with direct experience in value realization and portfolio governance.

  • Currently pursuing a degree as Junior or Senior standing in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale
  • Ability to build simple financial models or dashboards
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on structured analytical tasks with guidance
  • Ability to interpret and explain financial data and variance to non-finance audiences in writing
  • Detail-oriented with ability to identify and flag data inconsistencies
Nice to Have
  • Prior internship in Finance, Accounting, or Business Analysis where you built financial models or tracked actual vs. forecast performance
  • Experience with variance analysis or budget vs. actual reporting
  • Familiarity with financial systems or databases beyond Excel
  • Exposure to utility, energy, or regulated industry through coursework, internship, or research
Why PPTO

Most companies treat transformation as isolated projects. We treat it as a portfolio. The question isn't "Is this one initiative worth funding?" It's "Are we making the right bets collectively? Are we delivering what we promised?" That lens exists nowhere else in the company.

What You’ll Have

By end of summer, you'll own a real project. You'll understand how utilities modernize, why financial rigor matters, and how decisions actually get made. That's worth putting on your resume.
