Job summary

Hendrickson in Woodridge, IL is offering a summer internship to engineering students. Interns will train with Unigraphics NX and TeamCenter, learn standard engineering processes, and gain exposure to machining, castings, and drawings.

You'll participate in data collection, analysis, and possibly introductory FEA and fatigue work. The program emphasizes hands-on testing, validation engineering exposure, and learning how drawings relate to fixtures, supporting the development process throughout

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited engineering program at an eligible college or university.
• GPA of 3.0 or better required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Learn and use Unigraphics NX and TeamCenter on projects.
• Study machining processes, castings, steel forming, and reading drawings.
• Support validation engineering with data collection and analysis.
• Exposure to FEA, fatigue calculations, ride/handling, and statistics as assigned.

Job description

Looking for some hands‑on, real world engineering experience? Hendrickson is searching for Summer Interns to join their engineering team in Woodridge, IL.

Essential Functions

Our interns will spend the summer becoming acclimated with Unigraphics NX and TeamCenter; learning standard company engineering processes and tools; gaining an understanding of machining processes, castings, steel forming; gaining an understanding how to read documentations and drawings; learning how drawings correlate to fixtures; and gaining an exposure to the validation engineering group and again an understanding of that part of the development process. Depending on their assigned programs, interns could see assignments consisting of collecting and analyzing data, introduction to FEA, fatigue calculations, exposure to ride and handling, vehicle dynamics, reliability testing, and statistics. Students may also spend time in our Validation’s R&D Lab doing hands on testing if the assigned program calls for it.

Education And Training

• Students who are pursuing an engineering degree at an accredited college or university are eligible to apply.

Minimum Qualifications

• To be considered for a summer internship you must be actively enrolled in an engineering degree program with an accredited college or university. Students must hold a GPA of 3.0 or better.

In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, the salary range for this position is $21.00-25.00 per hour based on the student's grade classification. This pay range is provided to ensure transparency and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
