Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is offering an internship for graduate students to collaborate with our engineering teams on projects spanning avionics, software, hardware-in-the-loop, propulsion systems, and power systems. The role provides real-world, hands-on experience and mentorship within a culture of safety and inclusion.

You will gain practical exposure, participate in internal events, and contribute to ongoing programs while pursuing a graduate degree.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.
• Graduate student with at least one semester remaining
• Available to work full time for 15 weeks while not enrolled in coursework
• Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Passion for space

As part of a hardworking team, interns work directly with Blue engineering teams on projects in support of our business units.

Intern Project Focus

Projects may involve many aspects of applied electronics and electrical engineering including avionics hardware (from PCBs to electrical systems), software, hardware in the loop, instrumentation & controls, system test, power systems, communication systems, mechanical systems, propulsion systems, manufacturing, and systems engineering.

During your internship experience, you can expect to:

• Gain hands on, real-world experience.
• Receive mentorship and feedback from mentors and managers.
• Participate in events to learn about other parts of our organization.

Required Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
• Currently enrolled in a graduate degree program and have at least one semester or quarter of school remaining after the internship.
• Available to work full time for 15 weeks while not concurrently enrolled in coursework.
• Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for space.

Desired

• Relevant internship/co-op and academic project experience that demonstrate development of both technical skills as well as leadership qualities.
• Hands-on project experience.
• Experience with design and test of Avionics (electrical, mechanical).
• Experience with robotics.

Hourly compensation for applicant is: $38.00
