Baker Tilly is seeking Compliance Advisory Interns for 2027 in Albuquerque, NM. Interns will gain exposure to the firm’s Assurance, Tax and Advisory practices by working with clients across industries.

The Public Sector Compliance Advisory team helps navigate complex requirements, strengthen internal controls, and improve processes. No prior professional experience is required; enrolled in accounting or related business program with at least one term remaining.

• Currently enrolled or pursuing a bachelor's degree program in Accounting or another related business discipline from an accredited institution.
• Must have at least one academic term remaining following completion of the internship.

Job Description

Baker Tilly is currently seeking Compliance Advisory Interns for 2027. Our interns gain knowledge of the firm’s Assurance, Tax and Advisory practices through working with multiple clients across a variety of industries. The Public Sector Compliance Advisory practice helps public sector organizations navigate complex compliance requirements, manage risk, strengthen internal controls, and improve how they operate. Our team works with clients across the United States on a variety of engagements, including internal control assessments, grant compliance and monitoring, policy and procedure development, process improvement, and other advisory and consulting projects. We work collaboratively with our clients to understand their challenges, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop practical solutions that strengthen controls, enhance compliance, mitigate risk, and improve processes. As part of our highly collaborative team, Compliance Advisory Interns gain exposure to meaningful client work while contributing to high-quality, actionable deliverables that create value for our clients.

Education

• Currently enrolled or pursuing a bachelor's degree program in Accounting or another related business discipline from an accredited institution.
• Must have at least one academic term remaining following completion of the internship.

Experience

No prior professional experience is required. Previous internship, academic, leadership, volunteer, customer service, or other relevant experience and demonstrated interest in accounting, or professional services are preferred.

Certifications / Licensure

Required

• For accounting students, must be on track to meet the educational requirements for CPA exam eligibility prior to the start of a full‑time Associate position.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer-sponsored visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
• A resume and unofficial transcript(s) are required as part of the application process.
• Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.

Knowledge & Technical Skills

• Coursework in accounting and technology‑related fields highly desirable

The pay rate range for this position is listed below. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of relevant factors including but not limited to applicant’s skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements and geographic location. Baker Tilly offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package to eligible employees. In Albuquerque, NM: pay rate range is $23.75 to $79.80
