Job summary

Progressive Companies is seeking an Architectural Student Intern to assist with the building design process, collaborating with design architects, project architects, and project managers on materials, schematic designs, Revit modeling, and contract documents. You will support model building, renderings, and construction administration activities.

The role emphasizes hands-on client projects, site visits, and education sessions within a multidisciplinary firm known for design excellence.

Qualifications

  • Enrollment in a NAAB‑accredited Architecture Bachelor’s degree program is required.
  • At least one year of undergraduate studies completed by Summer 2027 is required.
  • Basic knowledge of Revit is strongly preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of architectural design, building systems, sustainability, and industry trends.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the project team to help meet project schedules and budgets.
  • Manage multiple project tasks in a timely, accurate manner, monitoring progress against project scope and available resources.
  • Provide documentation for final architectural plans, elevations, sections, and details consistent with Progressive’s standards.
  • Assist in preparing building models and detailed contract documents consistent with Progressive Companies standards.
  • Check code compliance information as it relates to the discipline and any effect on other disciplines.
  • Collaborate with project designers, architects, and managers to understand modifications to project design, scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Use design software, including Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, and InDesign, for presentation and production purposes.

Job Description

The Progressive Companies Summer Internship Program is a paid, full-time experience designed to launch your career. You'll take part in hands-on client projects, sharpen your problem-solving and communication skills, and gain a front-row seat to the world of architecture, design, engineering, and construction. Working alongside experienced mentors in a multi-disciplinary firm setting, you'll learn the tools and methods that build a strong foundation for your future career. Along the way, you'll take part in project site visits, volunteer outings, networking opportunities, and education sessions - all designed to fuel your career and your curiosity.

As an Architectural Student Intern, you will work collaboratively with design architects, project architects, and project managers to assist with all aspects of the building design process. Typical work includes preparing presentation materials, schematic designs, design development, Revit modeling and contract documents; supporting model building and rendering; and assisting with construction administration activities.
