Job summary

SAS in Cary, NC is offering a dynamic internship with our Global Strategic Pricing team. You’ll work on pricing analyses, collaborate with Sales, Product Marketing, and other groups, and build pricing models while gaining hands-on experience in a real business context.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate student in Marketing, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, Economics or any quantitative discipline; not graduating before December 2026.
  • Experience using MS Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, or HTML.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare pricing and revenue impact reports.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product Marketing, Product Management, Release Management, Offering Management, and other departments to develop compliant pricing and packaging strategies.
  • Consolidate information from multiple sources into recommendations, reports, presentations, and communications on pricing strategies.
  • Develop and maintain pricing models and pricing performance metrics for SAS’s offerings.
  • Research, analyze, and track competitor pricing and market trends.

The Global Strategic Pricing team is responsible for performing pricing and market analysis as well as coordinating the implementation of pricing of SAS’s offerings and solutions to optimize profits and support meeting sales, marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives.

As an intern, you might:

  • Prepare pricing and revenue impact reports
  • Work collaboratively with Sales, Product Marketing, Product Management, Release Management, Offering Management, and other departments to develop compliant pricing and packaging strategies
  • Consolidate information from multiple sources into recommendations, reports, presentations, and communication messages regarding pricing strategies
  • Develop and maintains pricing models and pricing performance metrics for SAS’s offerings
  • Research, analyze, and track competitor pricing and market trends
  • Interact with our Quoting Tool, Software Fee Calculator, to validate pricing, test use cases, and/or ensure our quoting is enabling the successful execution of the SAS pricing strategy
Required Qualifications
  • You are an undergraduate student studying Marketing, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, Economics, or any Quantitative discipline; not graduating prior to December 2026.
  • You have experience using some of the following types of programs: MS Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, or HTML
  • Ability to communicate effectively either verbally, in writing, or via data visualization
  • Strong organizational skills for managing commitments, schedules, and deadlines
  • You’re curious, passionate, authentic and accountable. These are our values and influence everything we do.
  • Strong communication skills — both written and verbal.
  • Leadership abilities. Your past experiences demonstrate you’ll take initiative and go above and beyond the call of duty.
  • You’re interested in the future of Analytics and embrace technology
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge in the use of data analysis tools, the application of research methodology, and data collection methods
  • Data analysis skills — could be using SPSS, SAS, or Excel as a few examples
  • Understanding of the enterprise software industry

Pay Transparency: The hourly rate for SAS internships is determined by the applicant’s year in school and the position they are hired into. Hourly rates range from $15 — $30 for associate’s/bachelor’s level positions and $29 – $49/hour for master’s/Ph.D positions. Internship roles are not eligible for bonus.
