Job summary

SAS is offering a Summer Intern opportunity in Cary, NC to support strategic delivery excellence initiatives across Consulting, MCS, PSD, Sales, and R&D. You’ll review procedures, map processes, and help create simplified workflows aligned with time‑to‑value goals.

This internship targets undergrads in business/analytics fields, not graduating before December 2026, with strong communication, leadership, and a passion for data and AI. Hybrid work and mentorship are provided.

The Americas Consulting Project Management Office (PMO) is seeking a highly motivated Summer Intern to support strategic delivery excellence initiatives, including an effort focused on reducing customer time to value through process simplification and operational efficiency.

In this role, you will help evaluate current workflows, map cross functional processes, identify bottlenecks, and contribute to documentation that supports consistent, scalable, and customer centric delivery practices across Consulting, MCS, PSD, Sales, and R&D. This internship gives you the opportunity to directly influence how SAS improves customer time‑to‑value by redesigning enterprise‑wide processes. You’ll join an inclusive environment where interns are treated as contributors from day one, supported by leaders, mentors, and a global community passionate about analytics.

This internship is ideal for students interested in project management, business operations, management consulting, or process design.

As an intern, you might:

• Support key improvement initiatives by reviewing procedures, documenting “minimum viable steps,” and helping build simplified process flows that align with SAS’ time to value goals (based on project charter files)
• Gain exposure to enterprise‑wide functions including Sales, Hosting, Project Management, Consulting, and R&D as you map and optimize cross‑functional workflows.
• Help identify broken or inefficient processes and propose redesigned alternatives
• Assist Consulting Project Management (PM) leaders in creating standardized templates, playbooks, and delivery documentation
• Partner with Consulting PMs to capture real world delivery challenges and elevate findings into process improvements
• Draft and maintain clear, repeatable documentation for internal teams
• Support additional improvement initiatives such as KPI tracking, meeting preparation, reporting, and operational communications

Required Qualifications

• You are an undergraduate student studying Business Management, Analytics, Communications, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; not graduating prior to December 2026.
• You’re curious, passionate, authentic and accountable. These are our values and influence everything we do.
• Strong communication skills — both written and verbal.
• Leadership abilities. Your past experiences demonstrate you’ll take initiative and go above and beyond the call of duty.
• You’re interested in the future of data and AI and embrace technology.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Lucid chart
• Familiarity with project management concepts (Agile, process mapping, requirements gathering)
• Interest or experience in process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen – even beginners)
• Experience with MS Office 365 tools (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams)

Pay Transparency: The hourly rate for SAS internships is determined by the applicant’s year in school and the position they are hired into. Hourly rates range from $15 — $30 for associate’s/bachelor’s level positions and $29 – $49/hour for master’s/Ph.D positions. Internship roles are not eligible for bonus.
