Join our dynamic team this summer and make a lasting impact on young athletes! As a Sports Instructor, you will lead specialized sports programs designed to engage and inspire participants of all ages. Our summer programming may include sports such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, and pickleball, providing opportunities for children to explore interests and develop skills. You will create a supportive and inclusive environment to help participants build confidence, make friends, and enjoy physical activity. Through fun and challenging activities, you will foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and a lifelong love for sports. This role offers a chance to be a positive role model and contribute to the growth of young athletes.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement sports and specialty programs aligned with YMCA goals and policies
• Teach fundamentals based on participant age and skill level
• Supervise youth and adults, ensuring safety and positive experiences
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians
• Guide staff and volunteers daily
• Maintain a fair discipline policy
• Manage equipment and notify supervisors of issues
• Assist in developing special events and activities

Requirements

• At least 16 years old
• Experience in sports or related activities (playing, coaching, etc.)
• Ability to work with multiple age groups

Child Abuse Prevention

• Report hazards and suspicious behaviors
• Follow policies for child safety and supervision
• Complete required child abuse prevention training
