Inspire, Lead, and Energize: Join Us this summer as a YMCA Sports Instructor at Lake View YMCA!

Join our dynamic team this summer and make a lasting impact on young athletes! As a Sports Instructor, you will lead specialized sports programs designed to engage and inspire participants of all ages. Our programming may include sports such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, and pickleball, allowing children to explore interests and develop skills. Create a supportive, inclusive environment to build confidence, foster teamwork, and promote a lifelong love of sports. Be a positive role model and contribute to the personal growth of young athletes.

Salary range starts at $16.20 per hour with opportunities to grow within the organization.

Responsibilities

1. Plan and implement sports programs aligned with YMCA goals, ensuring cultural relevance and developmental appropriateness.
2. Teach fundamentals based on participant age and skill level.
3. Supervise youth and adults, ensuring safety and positive experiences.
4. Maintain communication with parents/guardians.
5. Guide staff and volunteers daily.
6. Enforce fair discipline policies.
7. Maintain and report on equipment.
8. Assist in developing special events and activities.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Prior experience in sports or related activities (playing, coaching, etc.).
• Comfortable working with multiple age groups.

Child Abuse Prevention

• Report hazards and suspicious behaviors to supervisors.
• Follow policies for child safety and supervision.
• Complete required child abuse prevention training.
