Job description

Midwest Pool Management is hiring lifeguards for the summer season. We manage swimming pools all over St. Louis and the surrounding areas. We will place you at a facility that is convenient for you. Also, some facilities are indoor and run year-round. Please see below for the job description and expectations.

*All applicants MUST be 15 years or older by the date of their lifeguard certification class.*

Professional Lifeguards at Midwest Pool Management have incredible opportunities and tons of fun all across St. Louis and surrounding areas! Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety of our guests, enforcing policies, rules, and regulations as well as:

  • Recognize and respond effectively in emergency situations.
  • Participate in regular in-service training.
  • Keep pool facilities clean and appealing.
  • Proactively address guest needs by answering questions, giving directions, and other information.
  • Ensure the safety of guests.
  • Knowledge of any programming the facility provides (swim lessons, family fun days, water aerobics, swim team, tot time, river walking, etc.).
  • Be Professional. Employees represent Midwest Pool Management as well as the facility they are working at. We expect all employees to present themselves in a professional manner at all times, through both appearance and attitude. A good work ethic is an important quality, one which all employers expect.
  • Must know the schedule and arrive to work on time.
  • All staff members must wear the required Company uniform while on duty.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Lifeguards work Part-Time including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Strong observational skills to proactively identify guest needs and ensure safety guidelines are being followed.
  • Strong verbal communication skills (able to positively engage with guests, team members, and management).

Other Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to swim.
  • Lifeguard Certification (StarGuard Elite or equivalent).
    • Lifeguard training is available and must be successfully completed.
