Job description

Midwest Pool Management is hiring Leadership for the summer season. We manage swimming pools all over St. Louis and the surrounding areas. We will place you at a facility that is convenient for you. Some facilities are indoor and run year-round. Please see below for the job description and expectations.

*All applicants MUST be 15 years or older by the date of their lifeguard certification class*

Swimming Pool Managers and Assistant Managers at Midwest Pool Management have awesome growth opportunities and tons of fun all across St. Louis and surrounding areas for the summer season! Whether you're managing a quiet neighborhood pool or one of our fast-paced water parks, MPM has something for everyone! Swimming Pool Managers and Assistant Managers are responsible for ensuring the safety of our guests, enforcing policies, rules and regulations as well as:

  1. Assure that the pool facility's instructional and recreational swimming programs are operated in the safest, most efficient manner possible for all patrons.
  2. Monitor and maintain pool chemistry by testing water and adding required chemicals.
  3. Assure physical facility and grounds are clean at all times.
  4. Make recommendations on repairs and maintenance needs.
  5. Utilize pool staff to make minor repairs and maintenance adjustments as needed.
  6. Schedule and assign all aquatic facility staff.
  7. Participate in regular in-service training.
  8. Complete accident, incident, first aid, and all other necessary reports.
  9. Assist in preparing the pool for the swimming season (pre-season).
  10. Assist in the closing of facilities at the end of the season (post-season).

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Managers and Assistant Managers work Part-Time including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  2. Strong observational skills to proactively identify guest needs and ensure safety guidelines are being followed.
  3. Strong verbal communication skills (able to positively engage with guests, team members, and management).

Other Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Ability to swim.
  2. Excellent customer service.
  3. Experience working at a pool and a mechanical aptitude are preferred.
  4. Previous Lifeguarding experience preferred.
  5. Lifeguard Certification (StarGuard Elite or equivalent).
  6. Lifeguard training is available and must be successfully completed.
