As a Cake Decorator, you'll apply proper decorating techniques and maintain product quality by following guidelines. You'll prepare, package, and merchandise fresh products daily, while ensuring all department and food safety/sanitation standards are met.

Work Responsibilities

Customer Service

• Provide superior customer service
• Take cake orders accurately via phone or in person
• Assist customers with product questions and selections
• Use suggestive selling to meet customer needs and increase sales

Production

• Apply decorating techniques according to VTAs for quality cakes and pastries
• Write on cakes with icing upon request
• Follow daily production lists
• Ensure quality control before products reach the sales floor
• Deliver cakes to showcase and tables timely

Food Service

• Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh products
• Slice, package, label, and rotate products
• Record production and shrink for planning

Food Safety

• Maintain sanitation in work areas
• Comply with food safety and sanitation standards
• Follow store procedures
• Operate and maintain equipment properly

Minimum Background Requirements

• Minimum age 18
• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of experience
• Complete company orientation and safety training upon hire
