Job summary

McKim & Creed is seeking an entry level SUE Technician in Raleigh, NC to locate underground utilities and designate them for field sketches. You will operate SUE field equipment and assist with site maintenance as part of a small team.

Responsibilities include safe operation of radar and other equipment, following safety protocols, and potential daily travel with occasional overnight trips. Training is provided, with growth opportunities available within the firm.

Qualifications

• High School/GED or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to walk outdoors for long periods of time through all kinds of terrain, including urban, suburban, and rural locations, and working under adverse conditions (heat, cold, hills, swamps, wildlife & insects, high traffic areas).
• Able to lift 50 pounds, carry, and operate equipment as needed on the project.
• Available to travel daily; occasional overnight travel may be required.
• Work unsupervised when required.
• Background & motor vehicle checks, and pre-employment drug screening are conditions of employment.

OVERVIEW: SUE Technician is an entry level position working under direction of the SUE Analyst on projects related to locating underground utilities and designating them with paint and flags to produce accurate field sketches of results for use by client.

DURING YOUR WORK DAY, YOU WILL:

• Current Commercial Driver’s License is a plus.
