Job summary

George F. Young, Inc. seeks an experienced SUE Project Manager to lead field utility location projects, grow market presence, and manage budgets for high-quality outcomes.

The role requires 2–5 years in utility/SUE project management, a high school diploma, and a valid US driver’s license; FDOT experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of utility-related experience, with a background in SUE (Subsurface Utility Engineering) project management.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; FDOT experience is preferred.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean Motor Vehicle Report.
• Ability to read civil engineering and survey plans, make informed field decisions, and apply technical concepts.

• Field Leadership: Plan, organize, and direct crew activities to locate utilities accurately.
• Safety & Quality: Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to job-specific quality system tasks.
• Project Management: Prepare proposals, manage budgets, schedules, and profitability; oversee client relationships and contract administration.
• Client Interaction: Serve as the primary contact for clients, attend meetings, and manage client expectations.
• Team Oversight: Supervise office and field staff, including development and workload forecasting.
• Technical Expertise: Analyze reports, maps, blueprints, and data; apply math and technical concepts to planning and execution.
• Administrative Duties: Ensure accurate billing, monitor accounts receivable, and process field data into reports.

Position Overview

GFY is seeking a highly motivated and experienced SUE Project Manager to join our team. This role involves leading field projects focused on the precise location of various utilities. You’ll be instrumental in growing our market, managing project budgets, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality results.
