Job summary

T2 Utility Engineers in Oceanside, NY is seeking a motivated SUE Field Tech to join our subsurface utility engineering team. Training will be provided in locating, designating, surveying methods, and technology.

You'll work outdoors, operate SUE equipment including GPR, and contribute to accurate reports while traveling up to 50% of the time. CDL isn't required, and we offer a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in the utility locating industry or as a SUE Field Tech
• Ability to read and interpret utility company prints and design plans
• Valid driver's license with good driving record
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical (U.S. only)
• Ability to obtain a DOT medical card for CMV operation (U.S. only)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate heavy tools and equipment
• Ability to work outdoors in all climates
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time

Responsibilities

• Operate SUE locating and designating equipment, including pipe/cable locators and GPR
• Complete detailed daily reports, forms and field sketches
• Use tools to conduct utility investigations (jackhammer, vacuum hose, etc.)
• Drive commercial motor vehicles (CDL not required)
• Perform safety set-up and traffic operations under supervision
• Assist with survey and data collection tasks
• Perform daily maintenance of equipment
• Perform daily basic vehicle maintenance
