North County Lifeline seeks a SUD Counselor for its Youth Development program in Oceanside, CA. The role provides SUD education and counseling to middle and high school youth, and conducts prevention forums for parents and community members.
Requirements include California SUD Counselor certification, two years in the field, and bilingual English/Spanish. You will coordinate with case managers and clinicians to support treatment progress.
Under the supervision of the Youth Development Program Manager, the SUD Counselor will provide SUD education and counseling to middle and high school youth in Oceanside, SUD prevention forums/workshops for parents/caregivers and community members, substance abuse screenings, SUD focused Case Management, linkages and referrals. The SUD Counselor will work with youth who could benefit from specialized interventions to target co-occurring substance use symptoms, with the goal of removing these barriers to progress on the mental health impairment.
Certified in the state of California as a SUD Counselor, 2 years' experience in substance abuse and/or counseling, co-occurring treatment highly desired. Bilingual (English/Spanish) required. Must possess the ability to make sound decisions independently.
