Job summary

Roots Through Recovery in Long Beach, CA is seeking a full-time Registered or Certified SUD Counselor/Case Manager to support our outpatient program. Field-based opportunities are available for work with adolescents, families, or adults across multiple settings.

You will provide ongoing support, assess needs, teach coping skills, and guide clients through crises as you help them build resilience and healthier lives. Professional development is available with paid continuing education time.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of case management or SUD counselor experience.
• Experience with private insurance and Drug Medi-Cal a plus.
• Registered or Certified as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor.
• Bilingual candidates highly encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Direct work with clients and families to manage substance use and co-occurring issues.
• Map out client wellness and recovery plans using assessments.
• Set clear boundaries and communicate growth with clients and families.
• Build strong relationships to support behavior change.
• Model life skills and support client resilience.
• Maintain complete and accurate records.
• Collaborate with community providers to coordinate care.
