Job summary

SPECIAL SERVICE FOR GROUPS, INC in Los Angeles is seeking a SUD Counselor/LPHA to deliver individual and group counseling, intake assessments, and treatment planning for Drug Medi-Cal clients. The role requires collaboration with the DMC program team and adherence to program policies.

You will document progress notes within 24 hours, coordinate care with diverse clients, and participate in regular supervision. A strong background in DSM-V and recovery services is essential.

Qualifications

• Certified Substance Use Disorder Counselor or master’s degree with BBS registration.
• Minimum of three years’ job-related experience in substance use and/or mental health.
• Knowledge of DSM-V; addiction and mental health symptoms.
• Ability to manage group settings and prioritize multiple tasks.
• TB test clearance; reliable transportation may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide group and individual SUD counseling.
• Perform case management and treatment planning.
• Complete progress notes within 24 hours of service provision.
• Collaborate to develop recovery plans and treatment documents.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant records and meet policy standards.
• Participate in weekly supervision and trainings.
