Job summary

BayMark Health Services in Ogden, UT seeks a compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to guide patients through medically assisted treatment and recovery planning. You will lead individual and group sessions, assess progress, and coordinate care with doctors, nurses and therapists to optimize outcomes.

Responsibilities include crisis management, developing aftercare and discharge plans, and involving families when possible. A valuable opportunity to impact lives within an outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Must hold one of the Utah licenses listed (ASUDC/CASUDC etc).
• Associates and/or bachelor’s in behavioral sciences.
• Criminal background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling; direct service hours at scheduled intervals.
• Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans during therapy.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses and therapists to optimize outcomes.
• Develop aftercare and discharge plans for patients.
• Involve families and significant others in recovery whenever possible.
• Establish and review the initial treatment plan with each patient.
• Address patient grievances and other duties as directed by supervisor.

Compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor Needed!

Position Overview: Substance abuse counselors will be in charge with assisting patients through medically assisting programs and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. Counselor conducts group sessions and individual sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. Additionally, counselors will evaluate patients’ progress during therapy. Substance abuse counselors may also need to collaborate with doctors, nurses and therapists for patients’ therapy and treatment for the best overall outcome.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment


• Respond, as needed, to patient grievances and complaints


• Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans


• Involve families and significant others in patient’s recovery process whenever possible


• Facilitates, establishes and reviews with each patient the initial treatment plan


• Other related duties as determined by supervisor

Qualifications

• Must hold an ASUDC, CASUDC, CASUDC-I, SUDC, CSUDC, CSUD-I, LMHC, CMHC, LPS, LCSW, CSW, or SSW in the state of Utah.


• Associates and/or bachelor’s in behavioral sciences


• Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen
