Job summary

BayMark Health Services, BAART Programs outpatient clinic, is seeking a compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to assist patients through medically assisted treatment and coping strategies for opioid use disorder. The counselor leads group and individual sessions, collaborates with clinical staff, and tracks patient progress toward recovery.

The role emphasizes crisis management, discharge planning, and family involvement where possible, within an Equal Employment Opportunity framework.

Qualifications

• Must hold Utah licensure or certification listed (ASUDC, CASUDC, CASUDC-I, SUDC, CSUDC, CSUD-I, LMHC, CMHC, LPS, LCSW, CSW, or SSW).
• Associates or bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling; maintain direct service hours at scheduled times.
• Respond to patient grievances and complaints.
• Develop aftercare and discharge plans.
• Involve families in recovery when possible.
• Establish and review initial treatment plans with each patient.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor Needed!

Position Overview:

Substance abuse counselors will be in charge with assisting patients through medically assisting programs and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. Counselor conducts group sessions and individual sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. Additionally, counselors will evaluate patients' progress during therapy. Substance abuse counselors may also need to collaborate with doctors, nurses and therapists for patients' therapy and treatment for the best overall outcome.

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment
• Respond, as needed, to patient grievances and complaints
• Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans
• Involve families and significant others in patient's recovery process whenever possible
• Facilitates, establishes and reviews with each patient the initial treatment plan
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor

Qualifications:

• Must hold an ASUDC, CASUDC, CASUDC-I, SUDC, CSUDC, CSUD-I, LMHC, CMHC, LPS, LCSW, CSW, or SSW in the state of Utah.
• Associates and/or bachelor's in behavioral sciences
• Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen
