CNS Healthcare is seeking a Therapist to provide time‑limited outpatient therapies for individuals and families, with emphasis on SUD and co‑occurring conditions in Detroit, MI. Qualifications

• Master’s degree required in a clinical field.

• Two years of clinical psychotherapy experience with CBT and SUD focus.
• Experience with children and diverse populations is preferred.
• Must pursue and obtain CADC/CAADC certification.

Job description

As a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic, CNS Healthcare's mission is to serve the people of our communities. The Therapist provides time-limited therapeutic services to individuals via individual, family, and group modalities on an outpatient basis, with a clinical focus on substance use disorders (SUD) and co-occurring mental health conditions. This position is required to hold, or actively work toward, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) certification.

Compensation Range:

The starting pay for this position is $57,600 - $66,000 for masters limited licensed candidates, and $61,850 - $71,000 annual salary for master's fully licensed candidates and is based on non-discriminatory factors such as skills and experience.

Essential Functions:

• Provides individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy, with an emphasis on substance use disorder (SUD) and co-occurring mental health treatment.
• Performs phone consultation (i.e., coaching) as needed.
• Completes comprehensive psychosocial and substance use assessments and treatment plans.
• Facilitates crisis intervention services as needed.
• Delivers evidence-based substance use disorder treatment interventions, including motivational interviewing, relapse prevention planning, and stages-of-change approaches, as part of an integrated care team.
• Completes service activity logs accurately.
• Completes all required documentation completely, accurately, and in a timely manner.
• Participates in staff development programs, in-service education, and community education, including SUD-specific education requirements.
• Accounts for scheduled work hours through billing, productivity, or other approved methods of documentation.
• Meets established productivity standards of the organization.
• Fulfills mandatory education requirements of CNS, including requirements toward obtaining or maintaining CADC/CAADC certification.
• Collaborates with psychiatrists, SUD team members, and outside agencies including hospitals and community substance use treatment providers.
• Utilizes a trauma-informed and harm-reduction-informed approach.
• Leads or participates in at least one process improvement initiative each evaluation period.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related clinical field.
• State licensure: Limited-Licensed Master’s Social Worker (LLMSW), Licensed Master’s Social Worker (LMSW), Limited-Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Limited-Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LLMFT), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Temporary Limited-License Psychologist (TLLP), OR Limited-Licensed Psychologist (LLP)
• Two years of clinical experience in individual and group psychotherapy using cognitive behavioral techniques under clinical supervision, preferably including experience with substance use disorder treatment.
• Prior experience working with all age groups including children; solution-focused brief therapy; substance use and co-occurring disorders treatment; stages of change and/or motivational interviewing.
• Basic knowledge of cognitive behavioral therapy and substance use disorder treatment modalities.
• Understanding of substance use and co-occurring disorders treatment, including evidence-based SUD treatment approaches (e.g., motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, harm reduction).
• Ability to communicate effectively, professionally, and courteously.
• Ability to use discretion and judgment when handling matters of a sensitive or confidential nature.
• Advanced time management, problem-solving, customer service, interpersonal, collaboration, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to be forward-thinking and take initiative to accomplish goals and objectives of the department.
• Intermediate level experience with computers and Microsoft Office products.
• Working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations, the CNS Corporate Compliance Program, CNS Code of Ethics, as well as other policies and procedures.
• Ability to understand and value cultural and ethnic differences, their alternative perspectives, lifestyles, etc.

Preferred Education, Skills, and Experience

• Two years of clinical experience in individual and group psychotherapy using cognitive behavioral techniques under clinical supervision, preferably including experience with substance use disorder treatment.
• Experience providing substance use disorder treatment services within an outpatient or community behavioral health setting.
• Bilingual or bicultural skills a plus.
• Additional Eligibility Requirements-
• Requires a valid and unrestricted Driver’s License.
• Valid and unrestricted license to practice.
• Transportation or Automobile accessibility with current auto insurance.
• Must accept a bio-psycho-social model of recovery and believe that change is possible.
• Must obtain and maintain active CADC/CAADC certification, or approved CADC/CAADC development plan status, as a condition of continued employment in this position.
