Job summary

Piedmont Community Services is seeking a Substance Use Disorder Care Coordinator to support Office Based Addictions Treatment and Mobile OBAT programs. You will assist individuals and families in accessing SUD/OBAT services while promoting recovery-oriented living.

The role requires a BA in a related field or licensure, with experience in SUD/mental health and knowledge of community resources; ability to travel to meetings; and willingness to undergo background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or professional licensure in related field required.
• One year of substance use related direct experience or equivalent clinical experience with co-occurring disorders required.
• Knowledge of human services resources in the community.
• Ability to transport self to meetings and work sites.
• Consent to background checks and drug screening as part of the application process.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with substance use or co-occurring MH & SUD disorders and family members to access SUD/OBAT services, supporting recovery lifestyle.
• Provide coordination and linkages to OBAT and related services across settings as part of a recovery-oriented approach.

Education

Duties

Duties include assisting individuals with substance use or co-occurring MH & SUD disorders, and family members to access SUD/OBAT services in a manner consistent with the development of a recovery lifestyle.

Requirements

• At least a Bachelor's Degree in social work, psychology, psychiatric rehabilitation, sociology, counseling, vocational rehabilitation, or human services counseling or Licensure by the Commonwealth as a Registered Nurse, or Board of Counseling Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or CSAC-Assistant under supervision required.
• One year of substance use related direct experience providing services to individuals with a diagnosis of substance use disorder or a minimum of one year of clinical experience working with individuals with co-occurring diagnoses of substance use disorder and mental illness required.
• Knowledge of human services resources in the community.
• Ability to transport self to meetings and other work sites.
• Must be willing to consent to background checks, including checks for barrier crimes, and drug screening as part of the application process.
