Job description

A large and well-established private practice in the south is looking for a general neurosurgeon to join its well-established group. The new neurosurgeons will be part of their innovative practice in this southern city and partner with the university to provide student, resident and fellow training in the Departments of Neurosurgery, Neurology and Anesthesiology. Their physicians and surgeons serve as the faculty for the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at the university.


The group is committed to implementing a team-based approach to provide excellence in patient care. The neurosurgeon will work with other members of the group to provide clinical services and is expected to participate in the appropriate team activities with the objective of providing a high standard of clinical practice and clinical expertise. This is a privademic group providing resident teaching opportunities and the ability to participate in research.


The general neurosurgeon will be an 80% spine, 20% cranial position. The group operates at and takes call at several hospitals in the area and call will be approximately 7 to 10 days per month. They have co-management agreements with several area hospitals and the group works together to cover call at each hospital. A competitive income guarantee is provided by the group, which transitions to an income model consisting of several facets including productivity and ancillary income revenue sources. There is no buy-in to the practice and there are several ancillary income opportunities which do not require buy-in, including ASC, pain procedures, CT, MRI. A new angio-suite is being built and there are other growth areas being pursued.
