Mountain Community Online School (MCOS) is a fully remote statewide public charter program operated by The Mountain Community School in Western North Carolina. Serving students in grades 4 through 8, MCOS pairs online core instruction with strong relationships, student support, and hands‑on Climb Higher Projects.
The Success Coach is that consistent point of contact for students and families. The coach supports onboarding, monitors attendance and engagement, coordinates timely interventions, and helps students make progress in their courses and Climb Higher Projects. The role carries a caseload of approximately 125 students, reports to the MCOS School Director, and works closely with teachers and families. Occasional travel is required for student events and testing support.
