Job summary

BL Companies is seeking a Subsurface Utility Engineering Technician to join our team in a role that blends fieldwork with office tasks. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of SUE experience and will perform utility mark-out, EMI/GPR operations, and record research.

The position involves travel to project sites as needed and supports a hybrid environment with a comprehensive benefit package.

Qualifications

• 3+ years relative SUE experience or utility mark out is a plus.
• Comprehensive understanding of utility systems and layout is a plus.
• EMI operation experience is a plus.
• GPR operation experience is a plus.
• Experience with CADD drafting is a plus.
• Mechanical inclination preferred.
• Electrical or plumbing experience is helpful.

Job description

BL is expanding and seeking a Subsurface Utility Engineering Technician. The Ideal candidate has 3+ years of relative SUE experience. As well as being prepared to work in the field, performing utility mark-out (locating, subsurface utility engineering) activities. This role may require travel to project sites wherever needed to support business and client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Electronic detection of subsurface utilities
• Record research
• Documenting work through the preparation of sketches, spreadsheets or written reports
• Ability to work without direct supervision is required

Qualifications:

• 3+ years relative SUE experience-or utility mark out is a plus
• Comprehensive understanding of utility systems and layout is a plus
• Electromagnetic Induction (EMI) operation is a plus
• Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) operation is a plus
• Experience with CADD drafting is a plus.
• Mechanical inclination preferred.
• Electric or plumbing experience is helpful.
