Qualifications

  • 1+ years of locating/designating experience required.

Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Field Technician 1 - Temple Terrace, FL



Halff has an immediate opening for a Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Field Technician 1 in our Temple Terrace, FL office. The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting with Field SUE services. Ideal candidate will possess the ability to review as-built drawings and design plans to understand existing utility routes. Responsible for collaborating with field manager and other team members in providing field sketches and other pertinent information relating to specific projects.



SUE Field Technician I - Requirements:


  • Operate various electromagnetic locating equipment, to locate and mark underground utilities within prescribed accuracy limits.

  • Read and interpret utility plans / prints to identify the type and size of underground utilities.

  • Provide accurate documentation and or sketches related to locates completed.

  • Operate company vehicle in a safe manner and maintain professional appearance.

  • Be able to perform manhole entry using assigned equipment and safety devices.

  • Perform work in all weather conditions, during normal and after hours.

  • Communication and coordination with supervisor, coworkers, and utility representatives.

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.

  • Must have excellent attention to detail and strong ability to ensure accuracy. There is very little room for error in this position.

  • Ability and willingness to follow instructions that may be written or delivered verbally.

  • Must be dependable and responsible regarding punctuality and attendance.

  • Must be able to work starting 6:30 AM, Monday through Friday.

  • Must have reliable transportation.

  • Overtime and weekend work may be needed to meet project deadlines.

  • Will need to be available to travel out of town.



SUE Field Technician I - Qualifications:


  • 1+ years of locating/designating experience.

  • Valid State Florida driver's license

  • Vac Truck experience a plus

  • Strong Proficiency with Vacuum Excavator

  • Utility designating through (EM)Electro-Magnetic equipment

  • Experience with (GPR) Ground Penetrating Radar preferred

  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Self-motivated
