Job summary

Chevron’s Shale & Tight unit in Minot, North Dakota is accepting applications for a Production Specialist Subsurface. The role involves on-site supervision of well operations, collaboration with field teams, and ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in oil & gas, experience with artificial lift systems, and proficiency in MS Office; relocation may be considered. Heavy emphasis on safety, teamwork, and equipment troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Safe Work standards and permitting.
• Willingness to work weekends and overtime as needed.
• Must live near a Chevron ND office or be willing to relocate.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Proficiency in artificial lift and field surveillance software systems (XSPOC, TAM, WellView).
• Ability to complete post-offer drug/alcohol screening, background check, physical, and verification processes.
• Two years of current oil & gas experience.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work effectively within a diverse team.

Responsibilities

• Attend workovers to inspect equipment and assist in mid-job decisions.
• Monitor subsurface tasks to ensure compliance with Chevron’s standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with Field Specialists and ALCRs to optimize artificial lift and cycling times.
• Assist IOC Subsurface Specialists with troubleshooting rod pumps.
• Responsible for killing wells when required and supervising on-site safety.
• Optimize rod pump control settings and address alarms from IOC vendors.
• Perform PSSRs on all well conversions and support pump installations.
• Oversee on-site water or flowline acid flushes and related activities.
• Support Production operations and Health, Environment, and Safety initiatives.
