Job summary

Carver Public Schools is seeking substitutes for Food Service to support the 2026-2027 school year. The role is part-time (3.5 to 6 hours per day) with starting pay at $17.54 per hour. Responsibilities include food preparation for large quantities, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to sanitation and safety standards.

FOOD SERVICE SUBSTITUTES

2026-2027 School Year

3.5 - 6 hours per day

Starting Pay: $17.54 per hour

Qualifications:

  • Prepare food / learn to prepare and serve food- in large quantities, using large kitchen equipment;
  • clean equipment, serving areas, hand wash pots and pans, and other cleaning and sanitizing duties;
  • perform all duties while following National Restaurant Association standards for sanitation and safety;
  • perform simple math functions;
  • walk and stand for duration of work schedule;
  • work safely and accurately under a deadline;
  • follow direction and work independently;
  • work cooperatively with co-workers and contribute to a positive working environment;
  • safely tolerate exposure to heat, humidity, steam, cooking odors, refrigerator and freezer temperatures, and cleaning solutions;
  • work in a clean and sanitary manner; and
  • have fun and display a positive attitude at work.

Food Service experience preferred, but not necessary
