Movement in Columbia, MD is seeking a yoga instructor to provide world-class classes and guide students across a range of abilities. You will lead sessions focused on strength, flexibility, mobility, and stability while emphasizing breath work and mindfulness.

Job description

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide world-class customer service
• Teach high quality yoga classes with a focus in improving strength, flexibility, mobility, and stability
• Teach a safe, educational, and professional class
• Use succinct cueing delivered with a full range of expression
• Incorporate breath work and encourage mindfulness
• Accommodate different levels of fitness and abilities by offering modifications
• Create a clean, organized, and comfortable environment for the practice of yoga
• Building community: have strong attendance during peak-time classes and off-peak classes demonstrate consistent attendance building over time

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 200-hour, preferred 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher from a nationally recognized organization
• Minimum 1 year teaching experience, preferred 2+ years teaching experience
• 1.5 years teaching experience (equivalent of 2 classes/week for 1.5 years or 150+ hours teaching)
• Long-term availability to teach classes at Columbia and to sub throughout the week including early morning classes.
• Have a passion for Yoga and an interest in climbing!

Starting pay at $33.00 - $42.99/hour, based on experience.
