There are three ways to become a Substitute:

1. Hold a valid NJ Teacher Certificate or a current NJ Substitute credential.
2. 30 College Credits and currently enrolled in an accredited institution.
3. 60 College credits.

Substitute Rates: $125.00 Substitute Teacher (Para) per diem, after January 1, 2022.

Substitute Nurse: $200.00 per diem, after May 1, 2023.

Once you have obtained your substitute teacher certificate (or if you possess a teaching certificate), please print and email your certificate, along with the following documents (see attachments) to [e-mail]. If you would like to drop off your paperwork, please call [phone] ext. 2223.

• Employment Application.
• Oath of Allegiance. Please note, one is for a US citizen, the other Non-Citizen.
• Direct Deposit Form - attach a voided check or a direct deposit letter from your bank.
• W-4 Forms - Federal and NJ.
• I-9 Employment Eligibility Form - please include copies of 2 forms of ID.
• Sexual Misconduct/Child Abuse Disclosure Release - If you currently work or had previously worked within the last 20 years for school entities or employed in a position that involved direct contact with children, please fill out section 1 for each employer.
• Consent for Mantoux Tuberculin Test (proof of TB test), which needs to be certified by a Nurse.
• Physician's letter of medical clearance for employment (may be scheduled with our school physician, Dr. Rehberg). Information for Dr. Rehberg is provided on the bottom of the form.
