Job Description

St. Mark Catholic School is currently hiring substitute teachers for grades K – 8 for the 2026-2027 school year. Qualified candidates should be able to implement lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher, possess good classroom management skills, have a strong interest in teaching students, and desire to work for a Catholic school.

St. Markis a warm, service-oriented parish and school, with a close-knit and supportive faculty and staff. We have two classes per grade from Kindergarten through grade 8, with an average of 20 – 24 students per class. As a substitute teacher, you will be responsible for teaching lessons provided by the teacher, administering work or tests, covering any additional duties normally assigned to the teacher, and working with your grade partner to follow the schedule for the grade you are teaching. Substitute teachers are expected to maintain order both inside and outside of the classroom in a compassionate and caring manner, be familiar with technology used in schools, possess good communication skills, and have a positive and collaborative spirit.

This is an hourly position that pays $16-18/hour depending on experience and education. This position is for temporary occassional work and therefore it is not a benefit-eligible position.
