Responsibilities

• Teach courses in assigned area(s); plan and develop an engaging, standards-based course study.
• Instruct students by designing and delivering research based instructional strategies to ensure a productive learning environment.
• Select and requisition books and instructional aids/materials as needed.
• Communicate and maintain clear standards of student behavior to provide a safe and productive learning environment.
• Assess students' academic growth and maintain required paperwork for attendance and grade records, including updating the online gradebook.
• Communicate academic and behavioral progress and concerns with tact and professionalism to parents and colleagues.
• Maintain professional competence through professional development activities provided by the district and self-selected growth activities.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community.
• Supervise students in out-of-classroom activities such as in the hallways, assemblies, field trips, and lunchroom as assigned.
• Administer standardized tests in accordance with district and state policies.
• Implement IEP and 504 Plans with fidelity to meet student needs.
• Discuss academic difficulties with students, parents, and appropriate staff members as they arise.
• Maintain a professional appearance.
