Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain appropriate teacher-to-child ratios, ensuring constant visual supervision and safety
- Foster and maintain a safe, inclusive, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment
- Adhere to Wonder Years School policies, procedures, and state licensing requirements
- Support classroom teachers in implementing age-appropriate, child-centered curricula, including open-ended activities that encourage exploration and developmental growth
- Assist with classroom and outdoor environment set-up and maintenance
- Conduct regular safety checks of playground equipment and outdoor areas prior to children's use
- Participate in food preparation as required
- Support general cleaning and clerical tasks as needed
- Collaborate effectively with fellow educators and the School Director to uphold the quality standards of our educational programs
Qualifications Required
- Minimum 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED
- Clearance of fingerprints through the Department of Justice Child Abuse Index Check and Criminal Record Statement
- Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
- Preferred: Early Childhood Education (ECE) units and/or recent teaching experience with children ages 0-6
